November 2010
During newspaper I went out to chill with the B lunch kids, and the subject came up of the worst insult you could give a girl. Because my friend randomly brought up how some girl in one of his classes was pissing him off so he told her to put makeup on even though she already was. But that’s not that insulting, or at least it wouldn’t be to me. I was thinking about it for some reason, and I think the worst insult you can give a girl is very relative. It depends on her personality and her self esteem as well as her relationship to the insult giver. So I guess at a general level, you could tell her she was fat. But not straight up. Just, like, a subtle hint. I guess this is at the average boy/girl relationship at a school our size.
Or you could just tell her she has about the same amount of sex appeal as Nancy Pelosi. Nothing against her, but then again, she’s not all that pretty.
I want this in real life for my birthday.
So it’s been five days since Tuesday? That’s so weird. I got nothing done. I realized that if I read approximately 52 pages a day from now till Thursday, I’ll be done with Huck Finn by Friday. Cool right?
Actually, no. That book is all wrong. No matter how hard I try, I can only read it with a Southern accent. And it’s so much weirder because it’s in my head. So I’m not speaking - actually we were speaking when we read it in our clan and we thought popcorn reading with Southern accents would be a good idea, which it was, but I digress - but it’s like a Southern old lady in my head. It’s totally not normal.
But yeah, I had a pretty decent weekend, weekdays. Thanksgiving. Did I tell you how that went? It was really interesting actually. We usually just eat mashed potatoes and salmon or go to Friday’s or whatever else happens to be opened but my sister insisted on having dinner since it was tradition - but I say, how do you have a tradition if it’s the first time you’re doing something.
God, my typing is speedy quick.
Anywhom.
So we bought a ham and we made it but it was chewy and not all that tasteful but my mashed potatoes were good but then again, when are microwave potatoes bad? And we had vegetables and brownies. I guess it all went well. Then we watched Modern Family and slept. All in all, not bad. Not at all.
And then on Friday we went shopping and I got cute shoes but they’re a 6 and I’m a 5 but it’s really not a big deal. I can walk in them without dying so it’s fine. Besides, people should carry 5s more often. It’s not fair.
I also got shorts. But that wasn’t on Friday. That was on Wednesday. But still, I got them.
I thought about him a lot this break. I guess that’s both good or bad. I don’t really know what else to think. I just didn’t get to talk to him on Tuesday which was depressing because I didn’t see him so I couldn’t even give him a hug. I hope I see him tomorrow. That would be really nice. I think it would, at least.
I’m going to go now. I feel like washing my hair. I think I’m going to blow dry it straight.
Most people keep it around to make stuff. I just have it next to me so I can sniff it. It’s not like I’m on drugs or anything. Because it’s like made for 2 year olds. And getting 2 year olds high is illegal, I think. I mean. I assume it is.
