005. I have lots of heels but I really never wear them.

Because the only place I go is school and I hate when people wear heels to school (and I admit I did that a couple of times but then I realized how stupid it was) because it’s like you’re here to learn not kill your feet. I mean, I’m all for looking nice but I feel like wearing heels is like too much so I save mine for when I go out except I like, you know, never go out because I always want to sit at home and watch TV.

004. I name my USBs

My blue one is Jasmine, because the color of blue she is pretty close to the color of clothes Princess Jasmine wears. My black and pink one if Fred, named after Fred Weasley. But he has a twin (they look nothing alike, though) named George, so it makes sense. And the pink Pikachu USB my dad got me from China is named Pinkachu, because I think it’s really funny.

I think naming your USBs makes everything more personal, I think. I almost feel like like I owe those pieces of plastic something since they basically all hold my life. And I really like USBs, which may explain why I have three. Also, I almost always have one of the three with me at all times.

I am weird, I know.

003. My favorite fictional character ever is Fred Weasley.

I love lots of others but if I had to pick one it would be Fred, simply because I’ve loved him ever since I was five years old, when I first read Harry Potter and I still do and I always will. And heck yes, I am putting that on my USC application. They ask for your favorite fictional character, so I’m going to tell them.

002. I have the ideal life planned out for myself.

I’m going to marry a British ginger. And then have three kids: twin girls and a son. Their names will be Haydee, Autumn, and James. We’ll live in a nice house in England and travel a lot.

At the same time, though, I want the exact opposite: uncertainty. I want chaos and craziness. It’s conflicting.

001. I love reading college application essays.

This past summer, I read two books of real college essays from real students. Most of them were brilliant. I love giving feedback and voicing my opinion. I would edit a stranger’s essay if they asked me. A well-written essay gives you a beautiful glimpse into somebody’s life - it’s personal, insightful, and in my eyes, a masterpiece. Sometimes, I wonder if I was meant to be an admissions counselor.
